hey, thanks for letting me know
i know about 7-zip. the compression is the same.
i'm currently talking with the author of winrk because there are some troubles. i will begin testing when they are fixed in build 3. should be a day or two.
izarc... i didn't know that. it will be in the next update.

BCArchive version 1.02.2. Support of old versions of PGP keys format is added. (13-January-2005)
Unfortunately, there is no way to test CTXf with a GUI, so i can't test 0.75.
Usually updates of programs are just bug fixes. or some new feature which doesn't effect compression. so i avoid updating every time there is a new version. especially for WinHKI. compression has been the same for a long time, but it's been through about 20 versions. so i won't update programs it until the version number changes alot, or the compression is updated. This is because i have 7 gigs to compress each time a program changes, and it takes too long.
But thanks for letting me know

Unfortunately, i'm encountering bad problems in WinRK's PWCM mode so i will not include it in the tests. However i've been able to complete the txt english & foreign.
I have been a big fan of WinUDA since its first release . I really wish Werner would list it over at maximumcompression.com. It compresses well, but unlike most others, it also compresses at a reasonable speed. Worth a mention ANYWHERE in my opinion!!!
Dwings site (http://dwing.spymac.net/) appears to be experiencing technical difficulties at the moment. If anyone wants to try WinUDA, they can download it with the link below until Dwings site is back up again.

The reason he doesn't list it is because it's based off PAQ (6 or AR?) but dwing doesn't make the source code available. Or something like that. Yeah i agree it has decent speed and very good compression. I gave dwing some suggestions early on about file filters and such, which greatly improved compression in some cases (roms especially). I might fire off another email with some more suggestions. But it's been such a long time between versions, i think he's lost interest in it.
Bad news. I'm having more issues with WinRK in other modes too so i'll stop testing it now until i get a new build. But i'm working with the author to fix the bugs.
In fact I don't lose interest of UDA. So far it has all the basic functions as a compressor/archiver, and no bugs found yet. Even I don't believe it's only 18KB I will keep it slim, so many other unimportant functions can't be added.

hey dwing good to hear from you
Would it be possible to add a custom model-size? Currently mode-3 is 194 MB. If you added an option to add a custom value, i believe it would improve compression. Personally i would use 400MB.
How about using something like the little trick below with WinUDA. Looking forward to seeing WinUDA take its rightful place in the near future as best file compressor.
PAQ's BMP compression algo can be greatly improved simply keeping the recordmodel fixed to the width (multiplied by 3 if it's a 24bit image) of the bmp. I remember that using this simple trick my paq607fb did compress rafale approx to 615k.
