Thanks for letting me know about it. I've heard of it but was unaware that it had a GUI.
I'll test it in the future. Pretty busy in real life at the moment.

You could use 7-Zip to TAR the files/folders and then compress the resulting TAR file with PIMPLE. This is the method Werner Bergmans ( www.maximumcompression.com/) uses for his MFC test.

I have a set of rules i follow. In the past i've rejected other archivers because i needed to tar files/dirs before compressing. So i won't allow this one also until it has the ability to compress empty dirs & multiple files. I would only .tar it for testing purposes...

Anyway, I'm writing this program for myself. In future I add feature like ".tar" files support. But first of all, a lot of things must be done.
